SLO Partners and EVC Launch Digital Marketing Bootcamp for Local Businesses

The pandemic has shed light on the critical role social media plays in keeping businesses afloat during challenging times

[San Luis Obispo, December 02, 2020] SLO Partners, one of the leading providers of modern apprenticeship programs in California, today announced the launch of its new Digital Marketing Bootcamp, in partnership with the Economic Vitality Corporation (EVC). The program is designed for small to medium sized businesses who want to gain the skills to create and maintain an effective social media presence. SLO Partners created the bootcamp after seeing the important role social media has played in keeping local businesses afloat during the pandemic. “The pandemic has shown us how critical social media can be for businesses – it really was a make-or-break asset for some,” said Paula Mathias-Fryer, Program Director at SLO Partners. “Those who had an established presence and a good following on social channels were able to communicate changes to their business and promote new products and services during an extremely challenging time – for many it was their lifeline.”

Small and medium-sized business owners can either enroll in the bootcamp themselves or select one of their employees to complete the training. SLO Partners expects to see enrollment from those in admin roles or personal and virtual assistants who often help manage social media for companies who aren’t ready to hire a full time social media specialist yet. The program will also be helpful for those looking for new job opportunities who want to upskill and add value to their resumes.

“We’re proud to be partnering with SLO Partners on this program,” said Loreli Cappel, Senior Director at the EVC. “Our mission is to support local businesses and stimulate the economic vitality of SLO County, and the Digital Marketing bootcamp is the latest in a series of efforts to do this. The program will ensure that businesses have the skills they need to engage with their customer base and reach new audiences in order to operate successfully – during both normal and challenging times.”

The Digital Marketing bootcamp is a part time 10-week program that starts January 14th. Students complete five hours of modules a week – three hours at their own pace and two hours of live classes via Zoom. Participants can apply right up until the class starts. Limited ‘Early bird’ spaces are available at $499. Once those are filled the price will increase to $899. “We’re grateful to the EVC for sponsoring this bootcamp,” added Mathias-Fryer. “We wanted to make the price point accessible for small businesses and their support has made this possible.”
